I started being regularly published when I was 25. I didn't make my first dollar writing until I was 30. I didn't sell my first novel or screenplay until I was 35. Many of you hadn't even heard of anything I'd written until I was over 40. You have time. There is no expiration date on writers.

People often ask me if I reread my books after they come out. 1. No. Never. Ew, David, ew. No. 2. I have no interest in reading my writing unless I'm writing/editing it. There is so much else to read. 3. I read the thing so many goddamned times while writing and revising. So many. YET STILL I ERR
