I’d say an “industry deflation” is more accurate. Since the rise in interest rates caused by covid, the interest is loosing a lot of its investments from the tech industry and without that lifeline game companies have had to significantly downsize.

I think it is time for us all to admit that we are in the midst of a video game industry crash, largely driven by AI and corporate mismanagement. I do not think this is a crazy or uninformed thing to say. It’s different from the 80’s North American crash, but it’s real.
