I'm particularly curious to find out how the updated setting will work with the other Narnia stories going forward as they are so intertwined with WWII and in conversation with changes in postwar British society. I'm game, I just hope Gerwig has an overall vision if she's doing more books!

This is a hugely important point because today's collective memory is largely driven by films. When racist idiots complain that some new movie has unrealistic diversity, they have no knowledge of the past. They've seen older movies that were intentionally white washing history!
