The feminist movement that Steinem did much to mainstream and expand is in retreat, with women’s rights and status eroding conspicuously, and I’d like the usual suspects to consider this before they go on their ahistorical little rants about how she was a CIA stooge or whatever.

From this, all she seems to have done is disrupt Soviet-backed festivals in the late 50s/early 60s and who exactly loves the 1957-62 Soviet vision? Other stuff the CIA was then doing was likely not known to her because yeah the CIA liked and likes to operate secretly.
