What's most upsetting me as a journal editor is that many papers we receive where AI use is disclosed for editing and language refinement actually appear to have been ruined rather than improved by AI. We get what seem like promising underpinning studies, but totally obscured by over-complex text.

I'm SO SICK of the shameless use of LLMs to spit out garbage papers that merely look legitimate. It's a waste of everyone's time, and I'm frustrated that I'm expected to review work the authors didn't even care to read... We need far better monitoring systems to contain this madness.
