After too many hours, i've finished my first mini aimed at painting competition. The goal was to push myself to the max, take as much time as needed to work on as many details as possible. It was a very interesting experience, mentally taxing, but it definitely help me realise my progress (1/3)

Well not fully, your responsibility comes when you are creating the piece. I feel like a lot of modern artist forget the fundamentals of iconography, and how we can tell and show stories through symbols and media- without actually showing it. I feel more times than not, it is done for shock alone.

That is a very fair point. Some artists do prefer to use shock. Art is terribly subjective.

I feel that, at the end of the day, that is what @msmagus.bsky.social is trying to say. I'll be, aggressively XD but that is my wife for ya lol. I see her concern come from how media that uses similar tactics has molded the current generation into be rather unsympathetic to others or themselves.
