I feel like there are parallels to climate change and veganism in AI individually you're tempted and encouraged to do something that you know is immoral, but you feel like you can't affect things much anyway so why not enjoy the personal benefits while you can, especially if it's become the norm

yesterday someone asked why I don't switch to godot, when unity is continuously pushing AI - one of the reasons is because I rely a ton of my own tools/libraries they replied "maybe you can use AI to port them to godot?" idk if they were joking or not, but it's been lingering in my head

I feel like the people who have a "fuck it yolo" approach to life are probably quite a lot happier in general than someone (me) who tries very hard to stick to principles, who strives to be morally consistent in ways that come at a personal, professional, and a social cost
