We identified TRAPPC8 as an endogenous brake on UFMylation via direct binding of UBA5. Loss of this brake disrupts lysosomal function and drives tau propagation. Restoration rescues this effect in vivo—revealing it as a potential therapeutic target for tauopathies. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...
