As a V&A member I just got this in my email today - Persian female tumbler, probably from the Shah's palace, purchased in 1876 - 3 years after the Shah of Persia saw Japanese acrobats perform at the Crystal Palace in London. I love the painted toenails detail. collections.vam.ac.uk/item/O81783/...
