One of the really fascinating things about Charlie Kirk is that his own people’s response to his death was so nakedly opportunistic that it’s like oh, ok, this guy is fair game for literally anything, he’s an object, and now his soul is trapped inside Grok for eternity.

Just saw a tattoo artist admit to using AI for their designs. I would be fucking devastated if I found out one of my tattoos was fucking AI slop

This is it! criticism isn't about what's technically or subjectively wrong with an art or text, rather it's a vehicle to try to understand what the art is trying to say and then, once identified, judge if it's saying it well. If you can't identify the intent, then you can't judge the execution.

it's BECAUSE of critics I would not be the creator I am, as I studied them to understand of the art I consume. If you're capable of identifying intent in someone else's art, you're capable of it in your own. if you can identify how someone else's vision can be executed, you can punch up your own.

Being able to not only understand an art, but teach others how to understand it is exactly what leads to critical thinking and thoughtful creative engagement. to see the intersection between cultural values and art, how they alchemize, and making it visible to the every man is an art itself
