It’s more about what I didn’t do. I didn’t hurt myself, physically or emotionally. I didn’t withdraw from my loved ones. I asked for help when I needed it. I sat with difficult feelings and let them be there. I cried and talked and did therapy and processed. I kept everything going at work.

Is it weird to be proud of the way you handled yourself through a major mental-health crisis? Because now the fog is starting to lift, looking back on what I’ve been going through & how much it would have made me self-destruct a few years ago, I’m actually really happy with myself. I did alright.
