@dranominator.bsky.socialNo and no. The studio records, edits, and delivers assets to the client. They often help the client hire performers, and can serve as the signatory on union projects. They do not negotiate terms on anyone's behalf but their own. And they can't offer protections clients won't agree to uphold.
Show PostSide note: if you’re going to use this thread for a video/reaction, all I ask is that you link what I said back to this thread. I know my words will get misinterpreted no matter WHAT I do, but all I ask is to cite your source. Also, if any VA has more additional info/corrections, please let me know!
Show PostAll in all, I hope this revised agreement covers a lot of the things VAs have been worried about (especially considering there is a possible deregulation of AI usage in the US via federal law being pushed atm) If I get any more questions, I’ll try to answer more in this thread.
Show PostWhat about VAs that wants Genshin/HSR/ZZZ to be flipped union? Again, depends on the VA. Some may return back to work/request to renegotiate their contract for certain things they were looking for, or they may part ways with Hoyo entirely. Again depends on the VA's own choice.
Show PostWill the muted/non-replaced VAs come back? Depends on the VA. Many are withholding work in solidarity with the strike, so once the strike ends they will go back to working on the projects. These actors WANT to be working and that concept hasn’t changed since the strike started.
