There is this weird social pressure online to be constantly in a state of exhaustion/mental breakdown. I reject it soundly. I stubbornly do what it takes to stay mentally balanced, uncool as that is. Because flailing people are useless at making things better.

For some reason most of the slop scam book promotion emails I get target my FIRST book, which makes them especially funny. "Your book's poignant themes and heartfelt phrases are exactly what today's readers are looking for" baby that wasn't even true when it was published a decade ago
