@marcobarilari.bsky.social- Is there a doctor on the plane? - Yes, me - Can you heal? - No, but I can talk about the brain for hours.. I’ve finished my PhD! Huge thanks to @hansopdebeeck.bsky.social & jury members @neurosteven.bsky.social @jbrendanritchie.bsky.social & @Rufin Vogels
Show PostFor 15(!) years I’ve been teaching introductory #MRI to grad students, and struggled to find a textbook for a wide variety of backgrounds. I'm happy to share an online textbook I created, fully open source (including code for generating figures and plots shown): larsonlab.github.io/MRI-educatio...
Show PostBack in 1992 I made this clock for our post-doc office when I was at CMRR in Minnesota, an office I shared with my good friend Seong-Gi Kim. He became the founding director of the Center for Neuroscience Imaging Research in Korea and it now hangs in his office. And it's still true!
Show PostWhat you see right now is not a livestream, but is delayed & edited by your brain 🧠. The brain uses a short time buffer to rewrite what you thought you saw using info that comes in later (postdiction). We study how (7T fMRI, retinotopy). Read our preprint: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6... 👀 (1/N)
Show PostI'm very excited about this recent study, led by @pieterbarkema.bsky.social. We find that stimulus representations in the deep layers of V1 can be affected by *later* information: postdiction. See Pieter's thread for more information - and of course the preprint! @jhaarsma.bsky.social #neuroskyence
