Trump may fire Wiles because he's too stupid to realize it would be an admission that his dumb ideas, vanity, and bigotry got us in this mess. Traditionally monarchs and chief executives blame their ministers or underlings for poor execution. Trump doesn't know the playbook.

It will be genuinely funny if Wiles gets fired for Trump's failures, not Hegseth, RFK Jr, Bessent, Rubio, or even Vance. Because it will be the closest thing we'll ever get to an admission that Trump himself is to blame. She enforces, not implements, his will. The ideas are bad, not just execution.
