There's a logic even for madness. If a literal child could tell MCU Thanos to sit down, I don't think I can take anyone saying MCU Thanos is brilliant rewriting. You can just say you think comic Thanos is corny without pretending movie Thanos is a genius or something.

So, am I allowed to say comic Thanos had a much better motivation (that aligns much better with his personality) than movie Thanos ever did, or are we still pretending movie Thanos is some kinda misguided philosopher to which the "Mad Titan" title can be used to explain any logical holes?

Comic Thanos was a narcissist with a god complex trying to impress a cosmic deity. Him getting the stones to kill half of the universe for that end makes sense to his personality. He IS the Mad Titan. >>
