I think the people who care will opt in to this - it's a no brainer for photojournalism. Many Android phones already support a version of photo authentication called C2PA and it's a trivially hackable mess that's arguably worse than doing nothing at all. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Content...

About a year ago, I started to work with @nuevotokyo.bsky.social on what would become VWFNDR™ + MBL: a camera app for Android (soon iOS) made with @nuxt.com and Capacitor. We released it to the public in May. Today, two months later, we just crossed 100K downloads and 1M photos taken. Thanks 🖤🟥
