The UN General Assembly's Third Committee adopted resolution A/C.3/80/L.30 (docs.un.org/en/A/C.3/80/...) on the human rights situation in the Islamic Republic of Iran by 79 votes in favour, 28 against, and 63 abstentions.
Show PostI'm pleased to see strong condemnation of the alarming use of the death penalty (over 1,200 executions in the first 10 months of 2025) and the call for transparency in death penalty practices. Also pleased to see transnational repression included in the resolution.
