Again: “AIs aren’t conscious” is a strong, affirmative claim. It implies a lot of specific things about consciousness. It requires strong evidence. “We can’t say for sure if AI is conscious” is a weaker, cautious claim. It doesn’t make any particular evidence about consciousness.

Wrote some notes on Meta's new Muse Wonder frontier model. It's close to Claude Opus 5.5 on many benchmarks at the same per-token price, but uses fewer tokens in my tests. It also takes audio input and almost perfectly transcribed a two-person chat. notesbylex.com/muse-wonder
