Not to mention prosecuting the former president. And for it all, Dems were accused of not having anything to run on but "Orange man bad".
Show PostBuh- what? Will what are you talking about? Dems impeached him in term 1 and Kamala ran a whole campaign about (among other things) calling him a crook and a fascist
Show PostThere's a question of whether people were willing to hear the message sooner. First Trump term, the corruption wasn't so blatant & over the top. More importantly, diesel wasn't over $6 a gallon. That makes the audience much more receptive.
Show PostThis even goes to Dem leadership, who in theory would be great guys to trash Trump, but often realize that the key elections are Joe Blue Dog running in a Trump +16 district and that saying Trump sucks ass helps that guy less than saying "uh border security and affordability"
Show PostThe problem is always that on Congressional and Senate maps that are tilted so badly towards Republicans, the optimal strategy *in all of the individual competitive elections* is usually to run as a bipartisan problem solver even while the optimal strategy for the party as a whole is to trash Trump
