Was watching a video of someone talking about the development of Dungeon World 2 and they complaining about how the changes were moving the game too far away from D&D and how Dungeon World exists as a bridge between D&D and other indies and should stay that way. I had to turn off the video

I loved DW and am excited for DW2 - I don't know why there is a feeling it needs to stay as a bridge. It absolutely needs to move in the direction it needs to irrespective of D&D. Such an odd stance for them to take? Otherwise what are you developing on for the sequel?
