Show PostApologizes for all the technicalities with this post! Offshore winds can affect various areas. The orientation of this one definitely looks to target the west slope of the central & southern Sierra & typical Santa Ana wind corridors in SoCal, with highest fire danger in Ventura & N LA counties.
Show PostI do not expect this to be an exceptional Diablo wind event for the Bay Area. The cold air advection (blue colors) in second graphic indicate where dense (high pressure) air will pool on the eastern side of the Sierra. Would need this to be more pronounced in Bay Area for strong north-east winds.
