Whenever I see a trailer for a new Oscar-season movie my mind always wanders back to the Little Dansen Man sketch from Tim and Eric. Every trailer is edited like that.

all the cadence of a ponderous oscar-bait message movie but without the message. they feel like i'm supposed to watch them for self-edification rather than entertainment. they're the sort of thing your mom would make you watch instead of the fun, violet cartoons

Man, I don't know how to explain my complete lack of enthusiasm when I see there's a new Laika movie. i know we're all supposed to like them cuz, i dunno, look at the scrappy underdogs doing stop motion, but their movies are just so leaden
