In my opinion, "foolish" is too light an indictment and I'd say "unethical" instead. But I hear you for sure. Redemption from doing terrible things should be possible but should not be freely given.

My argument is somebody who has done what he did, regardless of the "journey" they've gone on (i think that's a gross framing but his words) shouldn't seek out being a media figure for a woke cause.

Good things, but so did Neil Gaiman. Like, I'm not telling you how to feel about Geller, I'm not sure how I feel yet, but I do hold people with a platform to a higher standard.
