That being said, I can totally see having read them as a young man and thought they were cool! And then you have that nostalgia lens! That's fair. They're just not my jam.
Show PostI find the way he wrote female characters annoying because they all seemed to have to perform femininity in a very specific (and male gaze-y) way. I also find his political ideas extremely boring and he likes to have his (male) characters make SPEECHES about them so you can't even ignore the ideas.
