Regardless, developers and realtors seem very intent on fighting so that the initiative never even gets to the ballot. They raised a whole host of legal objections that the board didn't even get to, but could be hashed out in court if it gets to that.
Show PostThe D.C. Board of Elections is set to decide whether or not the proposed initiative as written can get on the ballot. If it rejects it, proponents can either change the language and resubmit it, or fight in court. Either way, it's a delay, and could be a long one.
