And even if you do want to regulate the location of night clubs or whatever, just do that openly! Don't play games with parking mandates and exceptions, that just causes inefficiency and corruption and does a worse job of regulating what they want to regulate.

That concentration makes cities worse. Diversity of uses and times of uses is important for urban health. Having a bar, restaurant, grocery store, and coffee shop all within a hundred feet of one another *in the middle of a residential area* is far more ideal than one high turnover party district.

I’ve said for awhile that some low hanging fruit on parking reform is to eliminate parking mandates for any business that serves alcohol
