I learned from Loyd and Robert that when Mary's was open in Houston (where Blacksmith Coffee is now), the backyard was often a place gay community members wanted their ashes spread when they died of AIDs. What's now the parking lot at Blacksmith is literally a gravesite of AIDs victims.

Some of it is important history: These are the bartops from the iconic Mary's gay bar in Houston. During the height of the AIDs crisis, the owner printed photos of all the people who died and plastered them to the bar. Loyd and Robert saved the bartops when Mary's closed.

Loyd and Robert have a dream of starting a physical museum of queer history in Houston, where people will be able to see all of the protest and event fliers, newspaper clippings, leather wear, drag costumes, bar memorabilia, leather titles, and photos that they've collected over the years.
