I had a mole check for skin cancer and it cost $300+ from a dermatologist in the US! In CAN, I had 1+ year of individual derm treatment at no cost to me, with subsidized meds. I readily admit there is a ton of room for improvement in the Canadian system, but the US system is hot garbage.

…programs available. And yes, we have MAID, but it is only available to those who apply and are approved through a rigorous process. In the US, I had to pay $125 USD as a base fee for every doctor appt, plus more. Flu & COVID shots together were $225 USD for husband & I— unthinkable in Canada.
