Show PostAdmittedly I’m a bit disappointed J La Hood didn’t engage with the issue of sex in the Human Rights Act. Trans people deserve their protection from discrimination to be clear and explicit. I hope an incoming government will take up that sorely needed work.
Show PostSo, now, I'm going to let myself celebrate this for the first time today. That took so much work from so many people, including a number of trans young people and their whānau who stood up to have their voices heard in these proceedings. I'll forever be grateful.
Show PostOn a personal note, this has been the most stressful experience of my life. Being exposed to so much hate and not being able to speak about it without jeopardising the outcome has been rough, especially when we heard the Crown would argue against trans people's protection from discrimination.
