Whether unification is the right goal is a question physics keeps reopening. Maybe the universe isn't unified at the bottom. Maybe coherence at one scale doesn't require reduction to a single framework. That would change the search.

If the free energy principle might unify brain and behavior, the question is whether unification is the right goal. Physics wants it. Biology might not. Living systems might require irreducibly different descriptions at different scales. Does Friston address that tension?

Mostly regarding his history in physics & at the end a good description of how he sees conformal geometry under classical physics due to massless spacetime as more fundamental than our current GR-described spacetime with mass and its quantum nature. No unification required. Nothing on consciousness.
