Absolutely, an open goal. I'm a debt adviser and the latest stats are 43% of ccjs in Eng and Wales last year were for under £500. Parking CCJs are typically £270-£330. There's an epidemic of credit ratings ruined by parking mistakes and the public hate the companies.

Whilst it’s politically effective these do nothing to solve why this emerged as a problem. We’ve created a feudal society of fines and petty private fiefdoms and the response is to micromanage the fines, not remove the structure behind it

I don't think so. Seriously, in a western liberal democracy when have the far left ever had the power to move the centre in the way the far right has? Maybe post-war? You know the inherent issues in the global capitalist system are responsible for some of what we are seeing. That isn't going away.
