I respect your insights, however, shouldn’t the state be seen to take unequivocal action? We are still in a situation where the police/govt/media are still using very careful language like protestors, legitimate concerns, etc. This already looks out of control.

I could be wrong, but I suspect those protesting would like nothing more than scenes of confrontation and battles with the police. Avoiding this is sensible. As before, investigations should now begin.
