I blame US voters for this. We all knew who he was, his fixation with Putin, his authoritarian nature, his lack of patriotism, his stupid ideas on trade & alliances, his recklessness etc were well known, yet voters were either happy to elect him (TWICE) or apathetically stand by and let it happen.

This was how the “furries want litter boxes in schools!” hoax got ripped up and (mostly) died. People asked for proof, and every time a school got mentioned the administrators and teachers were quick to say, “No, wtf are you talking about?” Amazing what can happen when reporters ask for proof...
