I reanalyzed the CDC data behind the LGB “free fall” headline. It rests on a change in bisexual identification among one grade, in one wave, of one survey. Gay or lesbian identification did not change significantly. Calling it a "free fall" is sensational and just gives bad actors talking points.

Is America in a demographic crisis? Demographers don’t think so. I conducted a survey of U.S. demographers, and this is what I found: 3%: “The low birth rate is a demographic crisis” 25%: "serious concern” 53%: "should be monitored, but no intervention necessary” 20% :“not a problem at all.”

Ren Farley, a giant among sociologists and Detroit scholars. As a student I got to take his legendary Detroit class. We were in touch again a few years ago about a project I was working on using data he had collected years before. I'll always remember him as a kind and generous scholar. RIP.

It's not that I dispute the data. But everyone I've seen saying that a woman can be elected president is a man. I'm not sure y'all fully understand the devastation to women that was watching two highly qualified women lose to an utterly unqualified & incompetent man.
