We find 7 major levers for improving the quality of early years employment, in order to make critical contributions to the first 1000 days: improved pay, funding reform, professional registers, career progression, worker voice, high quality data & transformation of public perceptions.

Together with other @ceric-lubs.bsky.social researchers, we have worked with the @coalitionedcare.bsky.social to interrogate what needs to change to increase the status of early years work.

.@sarahronan.bsky.social, Executive Director, @coalitionedcare.bsky.social, is now responding to the findings on the early years workforce. Sarah highlights issues in the EY workforce, notably with funding and recommends funding reform as well as increased funding to be able to improve retention.
