I’ve spoken to a lot of reds, fans of local lower league clubs (their views would shock David) and even some scousers since the charges verdict. None of them have wanted sanctions that ‘obliterate the club’. Journalists spending too much time on social media.

they were telling us what we didn't want to hear, what we were desperate to be untrue. they're not all my cup of tea, some of them come with huge ego, but ultimately they've been proven to be writing in good faith. others, like keegan and samuel, who told us what we did want to hear, maybe weren't.

I've noticed this with all clubs, to be fair. Overseas fans with zero ties to the club just pushing for tangible success and bragging rights, not in the least bit arsed about the clubs history or heritage.

Fine. It isn’t my job. I’ve not fucked up. I genuinely think you and lots of others want us to be angrier than we are because you don’t quite *get* us. I didn’t sign up for success. That was just an added bonus. Relegate us. Strip us of everything. It won’t change my life. I’ll still go.
