Got it, so the penalty is in how it looks, not in the mesh. Honestly that's enough, a spot that looks off already tells you to stop.
Show PostOver-welding being a thing is a nice touch, it punishes the nervous back-and-forth everyone does. Does it show on the bead too, like a fat lumpy spot, or only in the score?
Show PostThe bead building up behind the arc already reads really well. Are the blue dots in the editor the weld path you sample along, with a bead piece spawned per point? Curious how you'll keep it from looking like a string of pearls when the hand moves fast.

Both faces tell you about the job before any welding shows up: the older guy's sagging lids and sunburnt neck, the younger one's dark circles and flat stare. Same tiredness at two different ages. Are they crew you work next to, or people you talk to between shifts?
