aniplex US' style guide for madomagi is so fuckin weird too. like, in japanese magireco/exedra, the unit pull mechanic is just plainly "the gacha", but in english they've punched it up to be "the Fate Weave", both in reco & in exedra it's more flavorful sure, but also Where'd They Get That Term From

i think anireco was subbed and dubbed by a different team than wrote the western scripts for the magireco game and magia exedra im sure it was mostly held to the same style guide as the games, but they may have been allowed to make changes like only using Rumor for the sake of subtitling flow

like, either the proper nouns are in english or theyre not. why is "Uwasa" a romanized japanese term rather than just being changed to capital-R "Rumor", but "Witch" isn't "Majo" or whatever?
