decided to update all my profiles to make sure the men out there enraged by successful women (& pronouns) know that I am, in fact, a tenured associate professor.
Show PostI presented myself to my husband this morning & asked how I looked. he said, "wow, you look great." I pointed out he didn't even put his glasses on & he responded, "what are you, an eye chart?" the joys of marriage.

Show Posthi, friends. happy Thursday. I learned yesterday that I have extremely low iron levels & might need infusions. maybe that’s why I’ve been feeling so terrible & treatment will heal me. fingers crossed.
Show Postpre-tenure I wrote articles for national newspapers about mental illness, addiction, & gender-based discrimination in academia. I used my power as a TT faculty at a well-known institution to address systemic injustice. I didn’t wait till tenure to use my voice—& I’m proud of this.
