An immigrant in Alberta sums what I imagine many are feeling.
Show PostI’m also an immigrant to Canada living in Alberta (though now w/citizenship), so I’m taking the referenda personally and m having very similar feelings about this place. To everyone who immigrated here (or are descendants of those who did) and voted “yes” to pulling up the ladder: GFY.

Show PostIt’s like scaling a tall building and jumping off wearing a wingsuit: one person does it and you say, “I guess I see the appeal”, but the rest of us don’t have to do it. Our destiny is to remain grounded and bipedal.
Show PostAbsolutely not. Humans evolved to live on Earth and there’s no other place that has the right amount of everything we need, like climate, liquid water, mix of oxygen and non-toxic gases in the atmosphere, magnetic field, gravity, puppies, kittens, etc.
