HOAs are one of about thirty or forty different things that no other country on earth would tolerate but which Americans think are completely normal. Like if one of my neighbours tried to fine me I'd actually just say no?

Yep. HOA's - which have legal agreements you're required to sign in order to buy the house that include the ability to foreclose on your house - are one of the many legal means that replaced red-zoning to keep your neighborhood whit... uh... I mean... to live around people who share your values.

I've somehow worked on two games where all the writing gets credited (by the players) to a perceived auteur who didn't do any of the writing, and in one case, didn't work on the game at all and whose name isn't even in the credits. That's fine. This is fine.
