Tangent here: I was talking w/a dad who'd recently lost his (white-collar, 6-figure salary) job. He had two kids and was complaining about child care costs. I kinda sidled the conversation up to hint at, uh, you know, you might bring those costs down by doing some of the care work yourself, eh?
