I did not WANT Kylo "redeemed." The moment where Rey closes the door on him in Last Jedi is one of the best moments in the whole franchise. It acknowledges that sometimes you CAN'T fix toxic, some people don't want to be better, and you need to let them go. That was a good and healthy message.
