Same in Portugal with MBWay, and similar in other countries. But these are closed systems, operated by local cartels (it took years for SIBS to allow Revolut to use MBWay), and don't work cross-border. We need a pan-European (and ideally international) open system.

In Spain we just started to use Bizum as a substitute for Visa and MasterCard. That system was used to pass money between people just using your phone number, and now, you can buy goods in store with that just using your phone.
