(Also, I'm doing okay. I'm not too stressed, particularly after talking to the doctor after the procedure who was ALSO super kind. But, yeah. It was weird and uncomfortable and for whatever reason, I thrive under those conditions. My fight or flight is... fight.)

And I realized I was witnessing, in real time, the thing I tell people to do all the time when in the presence of bad behavior. Deflection. Get involved. Make it uncomfortable for the other person. I'm good at the uncomfortable part without help, but SHE DID IT. ... do that. Be Second Nurse.

That my father died of cancer in March and that this biopsy was not the kind of thing I wanted to do right now. She cared. So when this other lady decided to give me a sermon about three times a week cannabis use (which discourages people from being honest, btw)... she kept interrupting her.

But the other point was the behavior of the OTHER nurse. Who was very aware I was there for a biopsy, and /incredibly kind/ and very likely the only reason I didn't make the anesthesia nurse's day a lot worse. She cared. That I was there for a cancer scare. That it was my first time there.

I will not be scolded for self care that is valuable to my weekly well being versus satisfying a twat in a doctor's office I will never see again in my life. Mind your business.
