I loved Buck Rogers when I was a kid. I was excited to hear Mel Blanc in the series. Gil Gerard was pretty cool and played the role well. It certainly is corny and really doesn’t hold up today, but even seeing how dated and corny the show was, Gil Gerard’s performance was still solid. RIP.

Aw, man. Gil Gerard died. It's near impossible to be a Gen-Xer and not have grown up with him as a hero. A soap opera actor turned lunch box superhero, he absolutely dominated the late 70s as Buck Rogers. He was also Jake Rizzo on Sidekicks and many will remember him from THE NICE GUYS. Legend.

Still processing the tragic news of the loss of Rob Reiner. I'm of the age when he was a huge part of my film-viewing in the 80s, and about ten years ago wrote a piece for the BFI celebrating to my mind some of his finest work. www.bfi.org.uk/lists/rob-re...
