Multiple people have compared the reaction to SA to the reaction to this HBomberguy video and I guess the one thing I have to contribute is that that video had three plagiarists in it and people only ever bring up the gay man and the woman.

It honeslty just shows me how much rape culture exists. With James Somerton, we all collectively agreed he didn’t deserve a platform anymore, and he disappeared. I’m sure he’s got some job somewhere, living a life. But an admitted rapist, well, he we must forgive, because some of us liked his stuff.

Two things can be true: 1) we can believe in & fight for a world in which anyone should have a path to redemption for even the most heinous shit and 2) you guys only seem to hum & haw over this shit when victims of sexual violence are tapping out their triggered feelings on social media.
