Here’s what’s going on. Baby boomers bought houses for cheap and then spent decades showing up to meetings demanding nothing else could be built in their neighborhoods so that their houses would see exponential increases in value, and now they don’t want that value taxed.

I don't disagree. I haven't said anything against density. Im trying to make it clear that density alone isn't a full solution. Yes, we should replace excessive parking with more housing density. That also means heavily investing in transit, at the city, surrounding county, and state level.

They don't connect the dots that opposing density city-wide means the towers they think they're opposing becomes the City's only housing option. Etc. Or that density and infrastructure (transit, shops, restaurants, public spaces) that comes with it, adds value to their lives.
