I only ever do 2 at a time now to both save the boredom but also to ensure they are the same size/pattern

I make 2 at a time. I just have 2 sets of needles, knit part of one, then do that part on the other one, etc. It's not any faster, but getting them done at close to the same time saves me from psychological despair. 😉
